Les Deux Alpes, ski resort, founded in 1925, is the second oldest ski resort in France, after Chamonix in the Haute-Savoie. The ‘Two Alps’ of the name does not refer to the mountains but to the neighbouring villages of Mont de Lan and Venosc that sit at the northern and southern ends of the resort respectively.

There are 225kms of piste and a vertical descent of over 2000m. The resort is snow sure because of its large glacier, one of the largest in Europe. There are two connected ski areas: the main ski area is on the left (east side) of the village as you enter the resort, with the smaller, quieter area of Pied Moutet mountain on the right (west side) of the village. The ski terrain is predominantly tree-less and over 75% is south facing, which means most of the skiing is in the sun.
