Courmayeur, at the head of the Aosta Valley, is a small but chic resort. Two cable cars and one bubble transport you from the village of Courmayeur to the ski area. There are sixteen mountain restaurants offering a range of local specialities including pasta, polenta, game and pizza. As an alternative to Vino Calde / Vino Brule try the local Bombardino, a warming drink after a cold day's skiing.
